A Special Guest

Sorry I've been absent all week-- I've had a test in every single one of my classes over the past six days! Anyway, last week was awesome because John Mather Skyped in to our SPS meeting! In case you don't remember, he's the amazing physicist who sponsors the internship I had last summer, and one of my favorite people on the planet.

Dr. Mather was kind enough to chat with us for nearly an hour, and he answered questions from our members on topics ranging from the cosmic background radiation (what he got his Nobel Prize for) to extraterrestrial life to the James Webb Space Telescope to his favorite book. As always, he was incredibly kind and self-effacing, but clearly brilliant and very humorous. Such a wonderful human being!
