One of the things we love about our neighborhood is its proximity to the extensive greenway system that runs through the Triangle. In fact, if we had the training and stamina (which we do not, so it's a moot point) we could even bike to Raleigh or Durham! The fall weather is gorgeous, so yesterday we biked to Lake Crabtree, about 13 miles round trip.
I wish I would take pictures while riding, but alas. You'll just have to trust me when I say the greenway is heavenly. It's shaded (riding through woods for the most part), there's a looooooong boardwalk at one point, and we even got to see an egret as we crossed the lake!
